Tribal Welfare Minister Ajmeera Chandulal today directed the officials to conduct the famous “Sammakka Sarakka Jathara – biennial Tribal festival at international level as devotees from other States turn up for the mega congregation of people in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district near Warangal in Telangana State. The Tribal festival will be conducted from January 31 to February 3 next year, he said, adding that about one crore devotees from various States and nations will participate in the ritual.
The festivities should be conducted on a grand manner by making elaborate arrangements, he said while holding a high-level meeting with officials. He discussed on the biggest event in Asia which will reflect the old age culture and traditions of the region. Taking cue from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, it was decided to extend an invitation to tribal ministers and secretaries and officials of other States and people’s representatives of other nations for the big event.
Chandulal said special stalls and exhibitions will be conducted to reflect tribal faiths, traditions, food habits, and related things to attract the foreign devotees. He asked the officials to prepare plans for the successful conduct of the Tribal festival. Arrangements will be made at 50 km area from Medaram jathara point, the minister said. The officials were instructed to ensure that the devotees do not face any inconvenience during the festivities at Medaram Jathara.
